What Megan Lee Handles at Gold Law in Camarillo

Megan's work often follows a family's legal needs from planning through administration. It begins with estate planning while everyone is healthy and able to make their own decisions. It can later continue through trust administration, probate proceedings, guardianships, or conservatorships when illness, incapacity, or death requires a plan to be carried out. At every stage, Megan focuses on explaining the process in plain language so clients understand what is happening and why.

Estate Plans and Trust Administration

An estate plan usually includes a trust or a will, a health care directive and powers of attorney. The health care directive names the person who makes medical decisions for you if illness leaves you unable to decide. Megan prepares these documents with clients and reviews older plans that need an update. After a death, she helps the successor trustee, the person named to take over the trust, settle it through trust administration. She handles that work alongside firm owner Marissa Garcia.

Probate, Guardianships and Conservatorships

Other matters, however, must go through the court. Megan works on probate cases for property that sits outside a trust. She also handles guardianships for minor children and conservatorships for adults who can no longer manage their own affairs. In each of these cases, a judge approves who takes charge. Firm founder Howard Gold has also worked on these kinds of cases for many years.
